Macdonald Youth Services seeks new Chief Executive Officer

January 9, 2018… Macdonald Youth Services (MYS) is seeking a new Chief Executive Officer. MYS is an agency that helps children, youth, adults, and families across the Province of Manitoba, with offices in The Pas, Thompson, and Winnipeg. Our agency has more than 700 staff members with an annual operating budget of nearly $30 million.

MYS is seeking a dedicated and results-oriented CEO who will promote the mission and mandate of the agency while sustaining and growing the agency’s profile as a trusted and valuable contributor to Manitoba.

After 17 years in a leadership role at MYS, current CEO Dr. Erma Chapman (pictured on the right) will retire on March 31, 2018. Dr. Chapman’s recent career highlight includes raising funds for and overseeing the construction of a state-of-the-art 33,000 square foot facility at 175 Mayfair Avenue in Winnipeg. This new Therapeutic Centre replaces three aging buildings and centralizes staff who were previously spread throughout six locations in Winnipeg.

“This is an exciting time,” explains Jim Krovats, the Chairperson for MYS’ volunteer Board of Directors. “We are thankful for the contribution that Dr. Chapman has provided over the last 17 years, most recently with the opening of our new Therapeutic Centre in Winnipeg. Erma has dedicated her entire career to making a positive impact on the lives of Manitobans, but now it is time to find a new leader who is as dedicated and passionate about providing supportive programs and services for Manitoba children, youth, adults, and families. We are committed to finding a strong leader who can continue to build on this significant work that has been happening at Macdonald Youth Services since 1929.”

MYS has many programs and services that help children, youth, adults, and families. Last year the agency helped nearly 8000 Manitobans across the province. MNP is overseeing the recruitment for this position. You can find the CEO job posting here. Interested candidates should apply to MNP by January 26, 2018.
