Youth in Philanthropy Generously Gives to MYS
The Winnipeg Foundation, Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) Program provides participating students with the opportunity to give back to local charities. This year, approximately 500 students, representing 27 high schools and one community organization have allocated more than $150,000 in grants to local charitable organizations.
Students at John Taylor Collegiate, Tec Voc High School and Westwood Collegiate selected Macdonald Youth Services (MYS) as their charity of choice and generously donated $3,050.
These funds will be allocated to the MYS’ Positive Alternative for Youth (PAY) Program (a program that helps youth overcome barriers, develop their life skills and build their self-confidence) and the Life Train Program (an employment program that supports adult participants 18-29 years of age).
Thank you so much John Taylor Collegiate, Tec Voc High School and Westwood Collegiate students for your enthusiasm and commitment to making a difference in your community. Great job!
