MYS is Thrilled with the Results of The Home Depot Canada Foundation's Orange Door Project

The Macdonald Youth Services (MYS), Youth Resource Centre (YRC) / Shelter would like to thank The Home Depot Canada Foundation and The Home Depot stores in Winnipeg for their commitment and generosity to helping put an end to youth homelessness. Across Canada from May 28 to July 2, the stores invited their customers to donate $2.00 at the checkout in exchange for a paper orange door with the proceeds supporting initiatives at MYS.

What impressed us the most is the commitment of The Home Depot associates to make a difference in their community and to see them challenge themselves to raise awareness about the work that is being done at MYS to keep youth safe. The store team organized a number of initiatives to generate interest and excitement amongst their store teams and neighbouring store locations.

The Home Depot Canada Foundation announced that across the country they raised more than $1.2 million dollars for youth serving charities. This year’s The Orange Door Project campaign was a success and exceeded our expectations. The five Winnipeg area stores raised $30,356 for MYS! This was $12,250.00 more than last year!

What an outstanding job these five stores did for MYS. Every member of the five store’s staff teams deserve a big thank you for all the effort that went into making The Home Depot Canada Foundation’s The Orange Door Project campaign an enormous success!!!
