Get Moving!

We're already in week 7 of this pandemic, and although some of us may feel like it's gone by fast, our bodies may feel otherwise. For this reason, we decided it was important to focus on movement this week. Moving our bodies is important for many reasons. Constant inactivity can have negative effects on both our physical and mental health. Movement breaks can help us during times of decreased activity by alleviating stored energy, improving circulation, and helping us refocus and retain information. Movement can also be a way to incorporate some FUN into our days (which we all need right now!) Planning for movement breaks is a great way to involve children and youth in decision-making, and can provide opportuntiies to educate them on the importance of this.
