Brad Wolfe, President of Macdonald Youth Services’ Board of Directors, is pleased to announce Bill Knight as the recipient of this year’s Sir Hugh John Macdonald Memorial Award.
Mr. Knight, of Bill Knight Flooring, is, quite simply, a philanthropist. In addition to supporting causes financially, Bill gives freely of his time and expertise to assist various fundraising events throughout the year. His involvement with Variety - the Children’s Charity of Manitoba, Special Olympics, Children’s Wish Fund, Junior Achievement, Child Find Manitoba, Rehabilitation Centre for Children, Children’s Hospital and Camp Manitou highlight his commitment to improving the quality of life in Manitoba and the lives of youth throughout our community.
The Sir Hugh John Macdonald Memorial Award is presented to an individual who demonstrates the values and virtues of Sir Hugh John Macdonald. In particular, the individual should demonstrate values of respect and fairness towards youth and practical assistance for youth to help them develop life skills for better tomorrows.
Mr. Knight will be presented with the 2009 Sir Hugh John Macdonald Memorial Award at our 2nd annual Gala Dinner under the Big Top event which will be held on Thursday, May 14th, 2009 at the Delta Winnipeg.
