When youngsters are mistreated or misguided their potential is jeopardized. Their futures are put in doubt. Their tomorrows darkened.

Macdonald Youth Services understands the problems young people face today and we understand the solutions, too. Building confidence. Building character and ability. Building brighter tomorrows.

Fostering the kinds of human qualities that can transform a troubled childhood into a productive, adjusted adult life calls for the utmost in care, professionalism and creativity. It also calls for a healthy respect for the individuality and aspirations of children and families. At Macdonald Youth Services we have valued and cultivated these attributes since our inception in 1929.

We also hold fast to certain beliefs that are fundamental to the development of the young personality. We believe children and their families are valued citizens entitled to the care and protection of society and to the opportunity for achievement. We believe in upholding the cultural and spiritual values of children and their families. We also believe that young people have the capacity to grow and change and to take charge of their lives.

But skills and beliefs must be put into action if they are to have their full impact. At Macdonald Youth Services, we have been fortunate in attracting talented, motivated staff and volunteers as well as acquiring the best of facilities and resources. We have designed and put into effect a range of programs and services to meet the changing needs of young people.

Today we can look back on a heritage of making a difference in peoples' lives; sometimes a small difference, sometimes a very great one. In so doing, we have gained the confidence and respect not only of government and supporters, but of the most important people of all - those we serve.

Today, as well, we can look forward to applying our resources, know-how and experience to new challenges as we face the age-old struggle of making tomorrows better than today. Join us in building better tomorrows, won't you?
